Privacy Policy

Preps AI provides AI-powered study quizzes and related tools. For privacy questions, contact us at preps_ai@preps.so.

Account information. When you register, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form). If you sign in with Google, we receive profile information from Google consistent with your OAuth consent (such as name, email, and profile image).

Session and technical data. When you are signed in, we maintain session records that may include IP address and user agent, and we use authentication cookies to keep you logged in.

Study content. If you upload documents, we store the original file and derived content such as parsed text/markdown, embeddings, quizzes, topics, and questions generated from that material. Uploads are private by default; content you mark as public may appear in our public library.

Quiz activity. We store quiz attempts, your answers, scores, and AI-generated grading feedback.

Feedback. If you submit product feedback, we may collect your comment, an optional emotion tag, and whether we may contact you about it.

Payments. When payment features are used, we process payment-related details (such as email, amount, and payment reference) through our payment provider, Paystack. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.

We use the information above to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the Service
• Authenticate you and secure your account
• Send transactional email (for example, verification and password reset) via our email provider (Postmark)
• Process uploaded materials to generate quizzes, topics, and feedback
• Respond to feedback and support requests
• Process payments when applicable

To generate study materials and grade answers, document text and answer content may be sent to configured third-party large language model (LLM) providers. Those providers process data according to their own terms and policies.

We may retain operational logs about AI requests (for example, provider, model, latency, and token usage). Those logs are intended to store metadata, not the full document text.

We use:

• Authentication cookies to keep you signed in. In production these are typically HttpOnly, Secure, and SameSite=Lax, scoped to our domain (for example, .preps.so).
• Local storage for preferences such as theme (light/dark).

We do not currently load third-party analytics SDKs (such as Google Analytics or similar) in the application.

We do not sell your personal information. We share information with service providers only as needed to run the Service, including hosting and storage, email delivery, AI providers, and payment processing. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or security of Preps AI, our users, or the public.

If you make a quiz public, related metadata (such as title and description) and access to that quiz may be available to other users through the public library.

We retain account, study, and activity data for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate operational purposes. Quizzes and related content may be soft-deleted in the product (hidden from normal use but retained in our systems).

To request deletion of your account or associated personal data, contact preps_ai@preps.so. We will respond within a reasonable time, subject to legal and operational constraints.

Preps AI is an educational product. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate parental or guardian consent. If you believe a child has provided us information without such consent, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including secure transport, hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
